Graduation Day is a 1981 American horror film in the teen slasher genre. It was directed by Herb Freed and stars Billy Hufsey, Michael Pataki, E. J. Peaker, Denise Cheshire, Virgil Frye, Patch Mackenzie, Deborah Dutch, E. Danny Murphy, Linnea Quigley (1980s scream queen royalty), Christopher George and Vanna White (best known for her long-standing role on television’s iconic game show Wheel of Fortune).
Graduation Day (1981) Plot
Laura Ramstead (played by Ruth Ann Llorens) along with Dolores (played by Linnea Quigley) are members on the Midvale high school track team.
During practice one afternoon Coach Michaels (played by Christopher George) begins pushing Laura, driving her, trying to motivate in the hopes of getting her to raise her track and field game. After a particularly strenuous afternoon practice session being pushed by the coach Laura abruptly and unexpectedly collapses and to the shock and dismay of everyone dies.
Flash forward a few months Laura’s older sister Anne Ramstead (Patch McKenzie) takes a leave of absence from the navy to return home in order to take part in a graduation ceremony honoring her recently deceased younger sister – her young life being cut tragically short a mere few months away from graduating high school.
Shortly after returning home a series of unexplained murders start to creep their way through the ranks of the rest of the high school track team.
