The Prisoner is a British television show originally aired between 1967 and 1968. It has become an enduring cult classic in television history. This is the fifth episode entitled The General.
In this episode, Number Six is used to test a new speed learning technology which instills three years worth of college into your mind in just three minutes, by watching a television screen. Ultimately he learns that a massive supercomputer which knows everything is teaching the course.
The computer is ultimately destroyed by asking it a single word question: “why?”
